Passengers can take in the scenery from the outdoor decks or relax inside the climate-controlled passenger lounge. Restrooms are available onboard, and leashed pets are welcome, making this an easy excursion for travelers bringing their four-legged companions.

Arrive early during peak summer weekends and holidays.

Keep your return ferry time in mind while exploring Southport.
Bring a leash if your pup is joining you.
Head outside during the crossing—the river views are part of the experience!
Vesta Tip
Take your car. For just a few dollars more than walking aboard, having your vehicle gives you much more freedom once you reach Southport, and turns the ferry ride into an easy full-day adventure. Grab lunch downtown, wander the waterfront, do a little shopping, and leave enough time to enjoy the ferry ride itself. The trip across the Cape Fear is half the fun.
